Lourve?
This building is called the Law Quad, I took this during the afternoon. It was quite big to get the whole building in so I took a picture from the front/side. This building looks like the building behind the Lourve in France, I went there 3 summers ago and it was very pretty! I love how it's darker and the contrast realy balances everything out. Pillars That Are Tall
This was taken by the Law quad, this bulding is called the William L. Clements Library. I saw it during mid day and thought "this looks vintage and beautiful, I love old looking buildings I love the structure, color, designs, details, and lines within the building. I love pillars built into a bulding or house, it makes it more interesting to look at. It adds more to something simple, I like how the pillars are balanced and symmetrical. Jingles In The Town
This was also taken down town Ann Arbor, where the Top Of The Park is during the summers. This is the Burton Memorial bell tower, It is very very tall and plays songs sometimes. I and others may find this to be such like a landmark downtown, I love the small windows and how they are spaced out around the exterior of the bell. I took this during the 75 degree sunny weather I then put a black and white filter in this to make it dramatic. I love black and white photos as I have said it reminds of old vintage photos. 10th Floor
This is North Quad campus downtown, I took this during the day time. I wanted to take this similar to how I took the bell tower pic, but I couldn't take it horizontal for the reason of there were sidewalks and street lamps and other things that may have been distracting. I named this the "10th Floor" because my sister Olivia goes to the University Of Michigan and she lived here last year, on the 10th floor. I remember the food being so yummy! it's beyond beautiful when you enter this building or walking towards the entrance. The flowers, grass, walkways, courtyard, and the pillars. I love the dining hall it looks like Hogwarts. Shadow alley
This photo reminds of old photographs from New York City, how they have those old lights and same bricks and windows. It helps that this is black white it really adds to this effect. This is taken inside the Nickles Arcade right by the diag, this was during the day time but since it is in black and white it makes it seem gloomy and raining. Which is one of my favorite moods to trigger through these types of photos. Again with the windows I like because you see the reflection of the lights and windows on the ceiling. This whole photo natural lighting hence all the windows. |
Black Bricks
This also the Law Quad but in black and white, I decided to have more of a darker picture. This captures a mood that is down or just dramtic, I personally love when buildings are made with bricks and then set in black and white. This was taken during the sunny afternoon, turning it black and white made a darker effect. Paris In A2
This is also that same building, again I took this picture looking up for the reasom of looking at things from a different persepctive.Everywhere I go I see a little "paris" there, as in like the way it's built looks like places in greece or paris. I loved the pillars and so I took phots from different angels to show how they stand. I decided to take this picture looking up because of the deigns on the ceiling how the lines intersect the circle. The little details on the exterior and indents speak to me, I find it very artistic and wonder what made the person do that to their bulding and for what reason. Look up
This is also the bell tower, same location and day time. I decided to take this horizontal because I saw some examples of architecture and one photo was taken of a tall building like this and it looked as if you were looking through a narrow alley. I like how it looks like it gets thinner as you look up, it's like leading of lines. Our eyes follow to the main focus which in this photo is the clock. I liked this one not to be in black and white so then the main focus wasn't distracted by the black and white. Black Shadow
This is part of the North Quad building, it's to the far left of the tall part of it. I love windows for some reason on buildings, the shadow really popped out and looked really cool. I took this during the sunny day time which is why the shadow appeared so clearly. I honestly have no idea what shadow that was, it probably was the building in front of it which was BDUBS. I love how both the building and sky are bright but visible at the same time. Flags Down
This is also the Nickles Arcade, I captured the things that you were not able to see in the other picture. I like how the flags are lined down the hall, the illusion of this photo is the tunnel getting narrower. I took this horizontal so you could see from bottom to top. I like how the ceiling is all windows and all the natural lighting. They also have lights in this but they usually not on, I found this angel really pretty but artistic. This was taken from the entrance of the Arcade and looking down to the exit. |
